COVERFLEET MOBILE APP PRIVACY ADDENDUM

This Mobile App Privacy Addendum (“Addendum”) applies to the Coverfleet mobile applications (“App”) on iOS and Android. It describes exactly what the app collects, how it uses that data, and how it complies with Apple App Store Review Guidelines, Google Play User Data Policy, Google Data Safety, and Apple App Privacy Details (Nutrition Label).

If there is any conflict between the main Privacy Policy and this Addendum, this Addendum controls for App-specific data.

1. Data We Collect Through the Mobile App

A. User-Provided Information

  • Name

  • Email

  • Phone number

  • Company name

  • Login credentials (email + password)

  • Biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / Android Biometrics) for login convenience. Coverfleet does not store biometric data; authentication is handled by Apple/Google.

B. Device & Technical Data

  • Device identifiers (IDFV, Android ID)

  • IP address

  • Crash logs, diagnostics, and telematics fault codes

  • In-app usage analytics (screen views, interactions, performance)

C. Location Data

The app collects:

  • Precise location (GPS)

  • Approximate location

  • Background location for the following purposes:

    • Providing telematics-based services

    • Mapping fault codes or inspection-related events

    • Operational safety and compliance

    • Integrations with fleet systems

Users may disable location at the device level at any time.

D. Media, Camera & Files

The app may:

  • Access the camera to capture vehicle photos

  • Allow photo uploads for inspections

  • Access photos (future support) when authorized by user

  • Access microphone for voice-driven features (e.g., dictated notes, support communications)

Camera, microphone, and photos are permission-based and only activated with user consent.

E. Compliance & Telematics Data

The app does not collect:

  • Driver Qualification File data

  • Hours of Service logs (HOS)

The app does collect:

  • Telematics data (vehicle fault codes, location, trip data) via ELD integrations

  • DOT/FMCSA data through regulated API endpoints

F. Communications Permissions

  • Push notifications

  • SMS communications (compliance alerts, account notifications)

The app does not send SMS directly through device messaging APIs.

G. Additional Permissions

The app may request access to:

  • Bluetooth — for connecting with supported telematics hardware

  • Contacts — for referral features (optional)

  • Microphone — for voice features or dictated notes

These permissions are optional, and the app still functions if the user denies access.

2. How the Mobile App Uses Data

  • User authentication

  • Delivering location-aware safety features

  • Sending compliance and system alerts

  • Connecting to telematics systems

  • Enhancing app stability and performance

4. Data Safety & Security (App)
